Brake Warning light on '83 K2500
While coming to a stop the other day in my '83 K2500, the brake warning light came on the dash. When the light came on, I felt something odd in the brake peddle almost like the proportioning valve popped out of center so I let off the brake and pressed it again and the light went off. I thought this was a little weird, but it never did it again that day. A day or so later, while coming to stops, it did the same thing as before; the warning light came on and it felt like the valve popped out of center again. Each time it does this, I can let off the peddle and step on it again and the light goes out and the brakes feel normal. So, I thought it may have had air in the lines so I bled all four corners and never got any air out; everything seemed ok. The master cylinder never loses any fluid and I don't see signs of leakage at any of the brakes. Also, the brake peddle doesn't bleed down (like a bad master cylinder). Any suggestions? Could it possibly be a bad proportioning/combination valve?
Thanks.

Isn't that brake light only for when the parking brake is engaged?

It's for both the parking brake and the proportioning valve to let you know when it's out of center.
