TPMS for Bag Pressure Monitoring

Has anybody ever tried using an aftermarket TPMS to monitor their bag pressures? I want to get rid of the old mechanical gauges but I'm having a hard time swallowing the cost of typical digital systems. I don't need the auto level functions, just a decent compact digital readout.

I'm just not too sure how accurate these systems are. Even the system on my late model car is a little flaky, it seems.

Here's one I'm looking at. The senders screw on the tire valves. I could use a common NPT to schrader adapter. It only monitors 4 pressures so I need to figure out what I want to do with the tank pressure. It also measures up to 99 PSI.

I saw DD's monitor. The only problem, it's too deep, (along with AVS). My plan has been to install it in the sun visor or some other out-of-the-way place. Not sure if one thin enough exists. That's why I thought I could compromise with the cigarette lighter location. It's right in plain view on a 60-66.

Now, I do have two open pods where I was going to install a tach and clock. The DD might look right at home there...

What about mounting it under the dash or maybe inside the glove box?

I really don't want to ruin the classic old school look of the interior, ('66), that's why I was going to mount it on the back side of the visor, only to be seen when it's rotated down. I also thought about flush mounting it in the cab structure behind the visor but I'm not sure how much I have between the inner and outer panels.

The glove box might work; just too hard to see from the driver's seat.

You got a ashtray or something on the dash you could make a removeable panel to hide it?

Nope! The AC vent is using the ash tray slot.

Most TPMS sensors need to see movement, ie tire rotation, to wake up and start relaying information.

During my research I saw some questions on this and all answers were that no motion was required. The external types I am looking at attach to the valve stem and have a battery for power.

The system on my late model car is calibrated by adding or removing air from the tires during the relearn procedure. (Not moving)
