Parking Brake Handle

Has anyone disassembled the parking brake handle on their truck? Wondering if the rivets could be cut out and replaced with a bolt or some other item... looking at the best way to get the handle powdercoated and refurbished.

Any ideas?

Re: Parking Brake Handle

Years ago I sandblasted and painted my OEM parking brake handle with POR-15 and it lasted for years without a scratch, rings or not. When I swapped it out for one of the "over center" designs, I sprayed it with multiple coats of black Rustoleum Appliance Epoxy and it also remains as new with no chips or scratches.
