Steering Column - Firewall Plate
On a 1965 steering column, what is the magic to remove the interior firewall support plate from the column? Do you need to remove the transmission linkage 'bracket' from the column to slide off the plate? Oddball question but...

Re: Steering Column - Firewall Plate
You can only get it off if you take the column apart, either way and whichever is easier. I took my shifter hub off to get it off of mine.

Re: Steering Column - Firewall Plate
Thanks Burb... that's what I was wondering/thinking. Just seemed like an oddball engineering design that required disassembly just to get a support bracket on/off... thanks
