Lost Door Vin Tag

Building a 68 K10, and lost the vin tag that was in the door jam of the old cab. I replaced the cab and now can't find the tag. Can I have a new one made?

Re: Lost Door Vin Tag

I think they are stamped on the top of the frame rail above the driver front axle. That's where mine is. But it's a Chevy.

Re: Lost Door Vin Tag

I have looked over my frame with a magnifying glass and no vin # , so I have to presume there was none on the GMC trucks for 68 .

Re: Lost Door Vin Tag

Mine was very easy to find by the power steering pump. Interesting that gmc has no vin number stamped on the frame

Re: Lost Door Vin Tag

Titles are issued by states. Any response saying its done in a state other than <my state> are useless. This applies to your state. For foreiners, it applies to your country.

How did you lose the VIN tag? This is the VIN on the doorjamb. Taking that off a bad thing and I'll leave it there.
Legally, a new tag can be issued by TX. google is your friend.
