1972 truck ashtray sliders
The plastic sliders for my ashtray in my 72 cab are broken. How do i go about fixing these. Is there another year ashtray that doesnt use them and i can swap. Thank you

Not to hijack your broken part, but is '72 special in that it doesn't use the ball bearings? Is that '72 only?

They brake all of the time, don't feel bad.
When you say the slider is broken do you mean that the slider on the tray is broke, or do you mean the slider on the dash is broke? |

I've purchased used sliders off the parts board and then used epoxy to glue them in place and had them last for a good long time over 10years or so till I got rid of the truck

The spot weld on mine broke on one side which made my the astray sit crooked in the dash. I put a cheap little vice grip on it behind the dash to hold it together. Last week, I heard the vice grip chirping behind the dash. It wore out (cheap china-made crap). I went to A-zone and bought another cheap china-made piece of crap vice grip and re-clamped it.
