looks like the spring broke and they did that to limp the truck home. at least i hope thats the reason they did that!!

Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. Hell, I'd run that fix until I could get around to a proper fix or HAD TO.

Stronger than zip ties and duct tape. I wonder how long its been like that? I would have thought something like that would have made it about a block before it gave out.

I've seen guys tie a log under a broken left rear axle and drive it out to get help. I once used a rubber band and a paper clip to replace a broken dist rotor ,It popped and pizzed all the way but I made it back to camp 5 hrs late .

Why did he turn the clamp on the left inverse to the others? Is it an engineering thing?

well i hope this was a bush fix and not some attempt at lowering if both springs are like this i think we would know the answer.
ya gotta give it to the guy very innovative. i once broke a main leaf on a square body and used c clamps till i got another spring.

If this was a repair to get home and it worked, then fine. But to try to change the ride height on the cheap is just plain stupid.
