Removing this stuff

Anyone have a good method to remove the factory deadener. I got what I could but the rest is glued on.

Re: Removing this stuff

Scraper of some kind, maybe a wire brush? Or maybe something like like a 3M Roloc bristle disk??? (i have never used one so just a suggestion, that is if you have a good compressor and dotco motors.)

There are also coarse fiber wheels available at hardware stores you can chuck into a drill if nessasary..

Re: Removing this stuff

If have used a comdination of adhesive removers, thinners, scrapers, wire brushes etc. Some trucks are easier than others. Depends on how well it is glued. I always give up and just get it close then slap some sound deadener over it!
What ever you do, wear a mask and eye protection!

There is a pneumatic gasket scraper at harbor freight for $25.00 that you can use for many things like this. Even the rust proofing sprayed on the inside of you door shell, works pretty slick too......

Re: Removing this stuff

I have one of these (not the overpriced Eastwood version) and it works great on undercoats and seam sealants.
I think i paid around $150 for mine.
Well worth the money.
