Cab mounts rusted out

Any recommendations on repairing these, floor pans are good.

Buy some mounts there CHEAP. If the floor is good but the mounts are bad just order the mounts and start drilling them out or grinding the welds from the bottom side grinding through the bottom layer of sheet metal. That will leave you solid floor [with out holes ] to weld too. Or you can drill out the spot welds with a 1/8th inch drill bit then use a step bit to drill out the welds completely. Once they are drilled out all the way [and done correctly in center and whatnot] the mounts will just about fall off with the slightest little tap of a hammer.
Now that method of course will work on any panels that are spotted together.If you do drill out the welds from above you will have the holes there to weld up once the new mounts are placed in . Jim

I started with the replacement cab support brackets(patches) when I attempted to do the rears, the rot extended beyond the weld in area, in other words, they would not reach solid metal.
So, I ended up buying the entire rear cab support piece, that did the trick, but boy was that a job!
I had to brace up the door frames, the rear cab wall (area behind gas tank) and I had to brace from side to side and support the roof before I started cutting the sheet metal loose from the rear support.talk about spot welds....geez, I bought several harbor freight spot weld cutters, then I found a "Roto broach" tool, basically a set of hole saws, but they have a center pin to keep the cutter from walking around.tough job, but I got it done...one recommendation though, .023 welding wire works so much better, and very little grinding.

As some of you know I build wrecks for a living. I use used parts quite often cause I have a bunch of trucks that i buy for parts. Sometimes [well most times] I need a bedside I go to the yard and pick one out and get it ready to install. I said that to say this the fastest and best approach for removing spot welds I have found is the double ended 1/8th inch drill bit[harbor freight has packs of 10 for like 4 bucks]center punch the spot welds thn take the cone looking step bit and put in in the predrilled 1/8th inch spot and count to 6 with each notch you will feel the bit go farther into the hole. By the time you get to the 6th notch the spot weld will be gone and you can take like a scraper and go between the two sheets of metal to separate them. I have bought some seem busters from STECK[I love that company]they really help in splitting the two panels without as much damage.
Now, I have one of those dang near $500 dollar spot weld cutters and it is sweet and works well but, it is not as good in most instances as the drill and step bit method I've laid out above. It works so well for me every time. Jim
