Under the hood
I have been waiting 9 weeks for this to be finished. I picked it up last night and installed it this morning. I think I need to invest in a polisher to keep it looking nice. This will be a nice addition to the truck at shows.
I had it polished to a mirror finish. You are looking at the underside of the hood. The panel rides on the 2 braces that run down the hood for support. Since my hood has louvers in it it keeps the rain off the motor. Now to try and figure out the rest of the hood. I want to put some kind of matting in place on the outer edges.

Re: Under the hood
Use metal gloss and sealer gloss to finish it. You should have to do it only once a year after the sealer is on. That's what I use on all my bike parts I make for friends. They love the ease of cleaning
Pretty much just wipe it with a micro fiber cloth for touch ups |

Re: Under the hood
Nice addition... Got any pics of the louvered hood? I would love to see that.. but on another note.. that intake pipe looks closed off a bit to much at the filter box.. Might I suggest finding a pipe or having on made out of metal pipe that would allow the air to flow smoothly. Im sure you would notice a little improvement in performance...

I think it's the picture looks darker right there. I'll post some better ones. I took these with the garage door shut due to the sleet, snow, & rain storm we were having at the time. I had to wait to open the door to get better pictures. It does narrow down some but with the cold air lid like it is I can't do much about it. I need to try and find one that comes straight out the side are have someone make me one.

Re: Under the hood
Find the guy that makes the fiberglass cowl with louvers! That would go go with the viser I think.

Re: Under the hood
Nice metal polish Daman,I'll have to try some of that on my beer keg seats!
IMO though Andy for close to $50 and shipping, I would check into getting it powder coated. You already did the hard work of polishing it. Then wash and wear for along time, but I'm a powder coat guy, sorry to small of an oven or I would do it for ya. Looks good! I'm with possumguts,I would fab some stainless intake tubes(also polished!)
