Removing bow tie from '69 hood
Any tips? I'm buffing the truck out and I also need to replace the blue plastic in it. I know it's got those retaining nuts on the back but it's inside the front support and there will be no way to tighten it back on if I just pry it off.
I've searched and found nothing, I could use some advice on this one. I also found when I removed my rear Chevrolet tailgate trim that I actually have a GMC tailgate. This is a frankentruck but it's rust free so I'm not complaining. |

Re: Removing bow tie from '69 hood
Here's a recent thread that may help. I found it, along with a lot of others, by entering "hood emblem" in the "search this forum" box.
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...ht=hood+emblem If you are successful in removing the blue bowtie from the pot metal bowtie you'll be more successful than I was. The metal tabs that hold the plastic in place usually break off. |

Gracias. I guess removing the latch plate is the key.

I've done it several times over the years and always thought it was straight forward. I used a 1/4" drive ratchet with the proper size socket.

Cool, previous owner had this done already. I'm sure a pound of Bondo was used.
