Re: Shockwaves
what are you trying to do? airbags to layout or just lower a little but not layout? lots of guys want shockwaves as the easy way to lay out but they only have about 4 inches of travel and are really sensitive to being bottomed out

Re: Shockwaves
I'm doing a 55 Chevy truck. C4 Corvette suspension. I want to blow the bags when I park it and lay it on the ground. I only need about 4" to drop it . My build is in my signiture below.

Re: Shockwaves
well see thats really the problem, shockwaves are only about 4" from FULL DROP to FULL LIFT, you will want to drive somewhere between those two limits so that there is actually some suspension in there, otherwise the high spring rate of driving fully lifted will make your ride hell, or the suspension travel of driving with 2" of lift will make you bottom out on ants.
I dont know of any other way to bag a c4 though, or any worthwhile alternatives to shockwaves though, so I am sorry.

Re: Shockwaves
if shockwaves only have 4" of travel, why use them? Maybe someone that has them can chime in... I'm thinking about using them on with my 4 link but after reading this my mind is changing...

Re: Shockwaves
Here is some information from Ridetech on Shockwaves and the longest stroke is 6.9 inches. Don't know if those are applicable for IRS. The ones recommended for front only have a 4 inch stroke like joedoh pointed out.
While this doesn't help with alternatives AZ Hank, the information might be useful. http://www.ridetech.com/store/shockw...versal-styles/ |

Re: Shockwaves
they have their purpose, on rides that already have plenty of ground clearance but want that super low look when parked. used this way people put bumpstops to actually limit the travel so you dont hit a bump and break the integral shock.
but laying out on the frame, they just dont have enough stroke to get a frame off the ground and still have suspension. Its some dynamite stuff, but if you want to lay your frame on the ground and raise to drive, you need a setup with more travel. I've never seen a bagged c4 myself.

Re: Shockwaves
Well, technically not in a C4, but close enough. It can be done. My next C4 truck will be bags.
Not mine: Rear end: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...306237&page=21 Front end: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...306237&page=25 |
