Re-drilling brake rotor bolt pattern?
Thought I'd ask in here as all the project savy peeps use this forum and its not year specific
![]() I've read how to swap NBS rear disk brakes onto the oem axle for OBS trucks. Works great for 4wd's as they are already 6 bolt wheels like all NBS trucks. I have a 2wd, with the 5x5 bolt pattern. Can a 6x5.5 bolt pattern rotor be drilled with the 5x5 bolt pattern so I can put rear disks on my truck? Without the machining of the rotors my disk swap will only run about $400, huge saving vs aftermarket options.

Re: Re-drilling brake rotor bolt pattern?
If you lay it out I think you will find that a couple of the holes end up part way in other holes. Ran into this issue the first time I wanted to redrill 73 to 87 rotors to 6 lug for my 65. This is not a problem on a milling machine using an end mill to do the holes. The cost to have them drilled may impact your savings and if you need to replace a rotor the time and cost needs to be planned for. I assume that the rotors are hub centered.
