Question 58 Apache with Heidts MII crossmember - Motor Mount?

I have a '58 Short Fleetside. It already had a 350 with a tubular crossmember/motor mount when I bought it.

I just installed a Heidts crossmember for a MII front end and was wondering which motor mounts to use. Heidts doesn't list any, and the tubular one will no longer fit.

Thanks!

Re: 58 Apache with Heidts MII crossmember - Motor Mount?

most guys just fab something up. I used camaro ls mounts on the block and made up some brackets over to the frame that will unbolt easily from the frame if an engine swap or general work is required. just install the motor mounts, ls or s/b or whatever, then install the engine into the truck. get the driveline angle close and the engine level, then make up some brackets to connect the dots. make sure to have all the accesories and exhaust in place as well as steering column etc.

easy peasy fabrication project

1.5'' square tube in truk on fatman x-member

10 ga flat plate (i believe on a heidts x-member)
