Re: fenderwell headers?
If you want fender well headers, build them or have them built. I had about 5 different sets of headers, sent them all back. My engine is set back a few inches. I think this was the majority of the fitment issues.
Pissed away about $300 in shipping (returns), and I still had to have a set built for me. (I was looking for 1 7/8" primaries) I think they cost about $1100-1200 once the were coated. Mine are mild steel, the guy who built mine said stainless starts out about $3000 w/good merge collectors. just my 2 cents |

Re: fenderwell headers?
For those running sbc and moving the engine back use Schoenfeld 78 up g body headers. Have to move the motor back at least 4 inches. This is what I used on my truck. Only clearance issue is lower firewall. I just clearance with a hammer

If you are on a budget it can sometimes be best to buy a set or headers that fit and modify them to work with your application. I was talking to a customer the other day who was quoted 2800$ for a set of headers by a very well known shop in san Antonio, only to be charged 3900 once the job was finished. I personally think that was robbery!!! Even a set of 321 headers shouldn't cost that much. |
