Fleetside SWB trailer ....

On my way to work today I see a '68-'72 SWB Fleetside trailer for sale. Is there a way to tell what year bed it is?

Wasn't sure if markers were different or not? Not really a big deal to me I guess...

I am gonna stop by tomorrow to check it out. If the bed is salvageable, it will be mine.

Yeah, given the fact that a lot of repro bedsides have fitment issues and need a lot of "massaging" to make them work, finding a nice factory bed for $500 is well worth the trouble, especially if its in nice, rust free (or fairly rust free) shape. Plus, you can pull it home without having to disassemble it.
Good luck on your purchase.

Re: Fleetside SWB trailer ....

Update....Guy wants $1500 for trailer. Bed is beat up pretty bad and has a ton of rust. Had wood floor, then piece of metal over that and then a 3/4" piece of plywood.

So still looking for that SWB Fleetside bed.....

Slight dreamer lol Most trailer beds I see go for $200-500 max.

To be real truthful here, there are not many trailer beds that haven't been beat to near death

Re: Fleetside SWB trailer ....

I found one last year over Thanksgiving break. It was a steel floor short bed fleetside for $300 on Craigslist here in Colorado. It was 1hour south of me in Canyon City. Well wouldn't you know it, we got a foot of snow and by the time the roads were safe to travel (3-4 days later) it was long gone.

Keep an eye out for long bed trailers too. Use the front wall, floor supports and tailgate. Cut the floor and add new 67 short bed sides(they are better than 68-72) stampings I've found.
