Before and after graffiti remover on 72 swb
So my truck was covered in a layer of spray paint from the previous owner. With the advice and links some of you here gave me (THANKS!) I went and got 4 cans of spray on graffiti remover, 1 scotch brite pad(only used on the really tuff stuff), and a ton of rags and got to work. I sprayed the truck patch by patch, sprayed one basketball sized patch, went and sprayed another, than came back and wiped the first down.(REMEMBER to wipe down every patch! I forgot one and took original paint off cause it sat for an hour oops) The front clip looks like somebody started sanding it down for paint than gave up and rattle canned it but I honestly wasn't expecting the truck to come out as good as it did. This took maybe 50 dollars at most for supplies and around 10 hours to do by myself. If you have a truck with primer over original paint I highly recommend trying this out. Besides whats the worst that can happen? If you mess up the paint under it just prime it again! Anyways thanks to you guys for helping me and heres some pics.
Heres when I started: After a good pressure wash: A side by side comparison: Before: After: |

Does look better and it doesn't look like the graffiti remover hurt the actual paint.

Re: Before and after graffiti remover on 72 swb
I've got a recently retired neighbor that's a Harley Davidson guy. Put himself thru college by doing custom paint on HD motorcycles. I used CLR and 0000 steelwool on my 67 C10 SWB farm truck. He was shocked how the paint looked after the CLR bath and a coat of wax. Another neighbor of mine said he saw 1st mentioned neighbor giving his early 80s Toyota truck a bath in CLR the other day.
