I need a formula on how to measure for a static drop lowering kit for my 72. Any help would be appreciated

Re: How do i measure
There are no formulas for drop. To many variables on what has been changed around or settled with age on these trucks. Are you trying to find out how much your truck has been dropped?

Re: How do i measure
Not at all. I am trying to figure out what size drop to install. Where or how should i use a tape measure to determine my numbers. I am running 18's on the front and 20's on the back with very low profile tires. The suspension is all stock on a half ton long box 72

Re: How do i measure
The wheels and tires will influance the drop some depending on the offset and the width. Post some pics of your truck and what your goal is for the final ride height. Do you just want the wheels to look good in the wheel wells or get it in the weeds?

Re: How do i measure
If you still have the factory springs in your truck they do sag over time,Being so buying a drop kit you might not get as much as you think because of spring sag.

Re: How do i measure
With pictures and tire heights it can be compared to trucks with known new components. I thinking with 2" drop springs, 2 1/2" drop spindles and 4 or 5" rear springs it will end up close.
