Re: How do i measure . Help please
There is a thread on this site titled "Let's see your static drops" loaded with pics. I can tell you the DJM rear flip kit I put on a 69 GMC with leaf springs tells you to measure from the wheel/hub center to the fender lip. I ended up with 5-5 1/2" drop.
When guys say truck is lowered 7" front 10" rear they are full of s%*t. They are measuring from the ground up and are going from 235/75/15 tires to 245/45/20s. Take your time, do your research and buy once. Good luck.

I think your facts are a bit misleading on tire size. There is a 0.2" different between the two tire sizes you mentioned. Also you can static drop the truck a half inch off the ground if your little heart desires. It would be the world's most useless truck but the ground is the limit for lowering.

Re: How do i measure . Help please
The measurement you want is from the center of the hub to straight up to the bottom of the fender.
Wheel and tire size can affect the ground clearance as well as the height of the roof from the ground but don't have anything to do with how much you lowered the suspension. On my 69 short step the 2 1/2" drop spindles and 2" ECE small block springs lowered it almost exactly 4 1/2". And FWIW, the DJM flip on my 5 leaf HD spring C10 dropped my truck 7". On a leaf truck not just the arch of the spring but the thickness of the leaf pack contributes to how much it's lowered based on how high it was to begin with.
