Odd starter issue

Not sure how this whole electrical thing works. But this does not make sense. I have slush button start I installed on my truck that is fed from a 12 volt fuss me key power. It pops the fuse from time to time so I am back checking the circuit. I checked the starter post the purple lead goes to on the solinoid and it has a tone against the ground of the frame. When I check for continuity. Is this correct? It starts and only blows fuses from time to time. The last time seemed like a dead short. Flash and everything. Simply changed the fuse and fired right up. Does not make sense
