And go figure, the cost for a nice one is approaching 20x that. Then take into consideration a Yenko or Mopar with a 426 Hemi. They probably didn't cost much more than 4k, and what are those worth today, 1/4 million?

What year was that? Personally, I generally prefer a TA over a Z28, though some Cameros would be very tuff to pass up. I had a 72 Malibu. Drove down the highway like a dream, but I'm not a big fan. Again, I'd rather have a GTO.

Re: How old were you when your truck was new?

-14. Truck was built November 1966 and I was born Dec. 1980.

But I have owned the truck over half of my life. I bought it when I was 15 in 1996, this November will be 20 years.

Re: How old were you when your truck was new?

I was 10 when mine was built. '67. The first one I drove was a brand new blue, 1968, GMC longbed. Inline 6 and 3 on the tree. My dad bought it. I started driving it on the dirt roads at our lake house when I was 11 or 12. Drove it until he sold it to my cousin several years later. He sold it before I got my license and I probably drove it as much as he did. LOL. Those were really the days. Miss the days, the truck and most of all, my dad.

Re: How old were you when your truck was new?

I wouldn't be born for another 17 years. For those of you that can remember when these trucks first hit showrooms, it would be cool to also hear what your first impressions were of these trucks. Did you consider them a worthy successor to the previous generation at the time?

The first truck I ever rode in was a '67 GMC LWB Fleetside C-10. Been in love with the style ever since.
