Harness' yeah or neh
So here is the question of the day, I'm putting Corbeau Baja RS seats in my 65 and will probably put a 5 point harness in for the driver. But since its going to be a rare thing for me to have a passenger should I just have a standard lap belt for them? The passenger would more likely be a woman and in the past several didn't enjoy having to strap in. I found a place that has the 5 point in a 2" wide belt instead of the normal 3" just because its painted and I don't want to mount a 3 point harness after the fact.

The other option is a 4-point set of driver restraints. There are a couple of options in 2-inch webbing, 3-inch webbing or combination of the two widths: one is to have the buggy restraint type that is a lift latch and incorporates the shoulder belts sewn to the lap belts:
These come in both competition lift latch (pictured) or a more traditional automotive lift or push button release buckle, and 2-inch webbing or 2-inch shoulder/3-inch lap. Another option is a cam lock that allows you to just use the lap belts. The cam lock is mounted to one side of the lap belts...I do these for a lot of the hot rod/show car guys, and I personally use this style in my street cars. For a racing application, here is what I did for Brett Deutsch on this forum for his Duramax-powered C10. With a cam lock, you don't have to latch the shoulder belts. All of these come with DOT/FMVSS tags.

I did forget to mention I prefer the camlock style, at least the new ones are small. I bought them back in the 90's and its the big 2"x3" block it must have been the first ones out like that.
