HELP PLEASE! Need Colored Wire Diagram 1972 C20

Hey guys,

I really need a good quality colored wiring diagram for my 1972 c20.

I have found parts of it doing a Google search and search on here with very little luck for some reason.

Please help!

Thank you,

Dave

Thanks Dennis!

Does anyone know what the fused wire that comes off the junction block goes to? It's a black wire that goes to the cab?

I made a version of it (with thanks to whomever did the originals!) with both combined into a single high-res version and hosted it on my website so you can grab a copy:

Remember it'll come up small in the browser to fit the width, just click on it to expand it usually.

Sweet! This connects the two pages Dennis sent links for.

It looks like the two fused wires (one off the junction block and one off the alternator wiring) is for the ammeter guage.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks Dave!

Re: HELP PLEASE! Need Colored Wire Diagram 1972 C20

Stsalvage, thanks for the shameless plug. I'll definitely check them out. I had a painless harness for a 63 Chevy SS I had and i hated it. I eventually took it out of the car the same day, repackaged it and got an American Autowire.

Right now it's not in the cards to get a new harness. I'm just fooling around learning how to troubleshoot and how my harness works on this truck.

I just need it to work like stock so I can pass inspection.

Thanks for all the help guys!

See, told you this was the best place to get the answers you needed... So many helpful truck lovers just like us here.

I think the Painless remark was a little off base because it was super simple to install, with each wire marked every 12 inches with where it goes, it couldn't have been any easier. Been 8 years and never had an issue with it, one of the best things I ever did to my truck. Didn't have much of a choice since the PO ripped the old harness out. Only thing I did different was every single connection was soldered and heat shrink added.

You're right Big Mike, I think the Painless Wiring harness I had was ordered and the person put connectors in it and returned it. Then when I ordered mine it came with the connectors on it already, probably why it didn't fit well or have enough slack. Seems like everyone has bought them sans connectors already installed.
