57 SWB fleet factory?
I have found a 1957 small back window non cameo fleetside truck in N.E. Texas. I have been told by a couple of my tri five buffs that the bed has to be a 58 or 59. If anybody knows if there was a fleet side steel bed in 1957 please let me know, Thanks.

Nope, the fleetside bed was only available in 58 and 59. It must have been a bed swap.
It looks like this one right? This is a pic of my wifes 58

That is exactly what it has on it, we are seeing less and less of those 55-59's sitting up here in the South, I can only imagine how hard it is to find them where you are. I have always liked the fleetside bed in those years, looks like you got a good one. Thanks for the information.

Yeah we got ourselves a pretty solid truck. Just needs a set of front fenders. I think we did well for $1000 CDN

I'll say, you would be hard pressed to turn one up down here for that price. The 57 I was talking about I believe is around $3000. I think it has a 350 motor. When I get a chance I am going to check it out real good and see what it will take to finish it. Currently it is in primer and it sits fairly low to the ground, looks good from the street, but you know how that goes.

Yeah I know how that is. I got this one for a steal. That paint is actually 14 years old. The truck used to be owned by a former body man and painter, so he did a great job on the body. I might see if he can fiberglass the fenders again so I can get the thing on the road this summer
