Green Suburban NJ Rt 80
Was heading out to dinner Sunday afternoon and spotted a green 4WD suburban. Maybe a 71 or a 72. It was at a Rt 80 westbound rest area with the hood up. My wife threatened me with divorce when I told her I wanted to make the next U turn and take a look and make sure they were ok.
Anyone know the truck? Paul

Re: Green Suburban NJ Rt 80
That was me! I had just gotten it drivable after a mostly complete frame off restoration. I stopped because my buddies 01' Ranger had an electrical issue.
My test drive after the frame off was a 350 mile drive to Alfred state for school and that's where you saw me. It is a 71'! When I first picked it up: How did you know the year? Last edited by infinite-foamies; 03-21-2016 at 08:41 PM. Reason: Added Pic. |

Nice rig! Wish I could have stopped. In the rear view mirror I got a look at the grill at 80 mph.

Re: Green Suburban NJ Rt 80
Thanks! I ended up having spare battery terminals and my hydraulic crimpers with me so we could limp my buddy's Ranger to an Autozone at exit 30.
I don't have a grill yet... I have the front signals that should be in the bumper mounted vertical to the core and a 68 bumper. |

Re: Green Suburban NJ Rt 80
I could have sworn I saw a grill! Is it just an open hole? Maybe that's what I noticed. I guessed 71 or 72 because I didn't see the bar going across like a 69 or 70 has!

Re: Green Suburban NJ Rt 80
Yep, no surround or grille. I am working on a custom one but it is fighting me the whole way.
