Hi All, long time owner, but a new member here. I have a 1997 4x4 Chevy with the Cheyenne package (somewhere between work truck and Silverado) that I've owned since 2000.

This truck had numerous problems up until about 120k miles, but has been largely trouble free over the last 40k miles. The last two repairs were the exhaust gasket between the cat and muffler, and the brake light switch.

Recently I inherited a newer (relatively speaking), low milage F-150, and was sort of hoping the Chevy would die of natural causes while being used as a winter beater. It's rusty, makes lovely piston slapping noises when cold, and just keeps going. Even the A/C blows cold and it's never been charged.

So I figured I'd join a message board while vacillating over what to do with the Chevy.
