Thanks, I'm used to dealing with f-bodies. Blows my mind that upgrade engine/transmission info is printed on a paper sticker that can get easily destroyed. Guess these were disposable trucks though. My 70 has crayon markings all over it..... I did not think to check the SPID as mine has no engine info on it, so what you are saying makes sense as mine is a base model.
