found longtubes that tuck in frame sbc
Just a post to share the headers i bought for my 68 c10 with a 4/6 drop.
i have a sbc. automatic. 4/6 drop ece kit. I found hat flowtechs 31100flt or 1100flt(non ceramic coated) fit well and clear everything as well as nearly tuck right into the frame. I have about 1/2 inch or less hanging below Enough you could problly shim the engine up a hair and clear the frame almost completely. With a static dropped truck these look to be great choice maybe bagged with modifications. i got the ceramic coated on ebay for 170$. they were the "scratch and dent". they just had a little scratch on the very bottom. They have the black painted for quite cheap. they hit right on the factory bell crank auto shift linkge, so fabrication or a lokar kit is needed. Figured it may help someone on the hunt. i will upload pictures when i get some uploaded.

Re: found longtubes that tuck in frame sbc
I just put a new set on mine last weekend. I do like the way they fit and don't hang down too low. I tried the shortie headers but had too many problems too count.

Re: found longtubes that tuck in frame sbc
I think I have Flowtech long tubes on my truck, too. I bought the Summit Racing brand, and I heard those or just rebranded Flowtechs. The still hang below the frame, but not as low as the Hedmans I had on there before. They cleared everything in the engine bay when I installed them, but the passenger side header sits very close to the motor mount. Haven't driven the truck yet so I don't know if that will be an issue, but the truck idles and revs in park without the headers touching the mount.

Re: found longtubes that tuck in frame sbc
I'm in the process of curing the paint on my new headers. I painted them with Hi Temp Black before I put them on, and I'd like to keep them from turning Rust Red over night.

Re: found longtubes that tuck in frame sbc
I will post pics in the morning. I tightened driverside down completely, and did find them rubbing the control arm a little bit. I did some massaging and they are cloae now bit fit fine. I could have shimmed my mounts as well but didnt think about it until after the fact.
I would say if you dont mind slight massaging these fit pretty decent.the non ceramic ate cheap, too.

Passenger side. close but it does clear.went in easy from the top.
I will get driver side pictures soon. I have these exact headera on my square body and tuck in frame as well with no rubbing anywhere. Very well option for a 73-87
