Aluminum driveshaft
Does anyone know if GM manufactured an aluminum driveshaft for my 02 Silverado short bed regular cab? Maybe a yukon or tahoe, escalade, I don't know. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Aluminum driveshaft
in my catalog I see 12 options for a driveshaft for that year alone....
2WD 4WD? What size U joint and do you have? Want a one piece or two piece drive shaft? What trans and engine combo? pm the last 8 of the VIN and I could maybe track something down

4wd Z71, regular cab, short bed, one piece, 5.3 w/ 4/60e. Not sure on the u-joint size. The newer models had a aluminum shaft but not sure what year would work for my app.

Re: Aluminum driveshaft
Okay I will run your combo and find the total length and do a bit of looking around to see if anything is close for it when I have some free time tomorrow

Re: Aluminum driveshaft
Well the only thing I could round up thus far is the part number for the original drive shaft of your truck being 15751438 but GM isn't giving me any engineering note about it other then it is a first design that uses internal snap rings and is 5" in diameter

Re: Aluminum driveshaft
Do you really need a 5" aluminum driveshaft? The rear driveline is like 45"

Re: Aluminum driveshaft
The middle part of the shaft is 5". However, I was thinking the aluminum prop from the same style newer truck might work. Lmk what you guys think. Thanks for the help.
