What is done to the front end and rear to get that "look" everyone has...

I have a 72 c10 with front disks brakes and rear coils. stock rear lower front?? Any help would be great. I'm prolly gonna rebuild the complete front suspension and brake components anyway so I would like to do "once and done". I don't wanna slam it to the ground just maybe a touch lower???

Welcome to the boards and no question is dumb. Even folks that have been on this site for 15 years still ask questions when they run into something they are not sure about. There are a multitude of things you can do to lower your truck. First you have to figure out how low you want to go then depending on your preferences and budget decide from there. If you use the search button on the top right of this page you will find multiple posts on the different ways to lower your truck. If I was you I'd take some time to study the various options for lowering.

I searched the forum earlier today...Do I need spindles since I already have front disks??

2" front 4" rear sounds like what most do to keep a nice ride. I'm planning on tearing into this soon and wanna have parts on the shelf to do it up....Any ideas on what brand?? I don't want cheap junk but don't need top shelf either..

I'd guess you are talking about a 4/6 drop (4" drop in front, 6" in the back). From the factory, the rear is higher than the front, so the extra 2" drop levels things out.

Post a pic of one that has the look you want. Or, as mentioned, do a search. There are tons of pics/examples on the site with drop specs, wheel size, tire size, etc listed.

If you want to go 2 inch in the front and 4 in the back you can get a 2 inch dropped spring for the front and a 4 inch dropped spring for the rear. Another option is to get a 2 1/2 inch dropped front spindle and leave the original spring intact. Another factor you should consider is what tire size you are running. I do believe you can retain your original shocks with a 2 or 2 1/2 inch front drop and 4 inch rear drop but I'm not 100% sure on that. Here are a couple of sources and I suggest to look at the Board vendors on this site as well. I've heard some complaints about CPP and never heard anything bad about Early Classic and from my personal experience with them have had excellent service.

Another thing to really enhance the handling of your truck is if you do not have one on your truck already is the addition of a front sway bar.

Take a look at the pictures I have posted on my '72 I have the CCP drop springs front and rear, 3" front and 5" rear using all other factory parts. Once you get into the 4/6 drop area you should be looking into shock relocation brackets, adjustable panhard bar, and to a lesser extent C-notching the frame. for me the 3/5 was the perfect daily driver drop, but to each thier own.

Here is a quick shot for reference.

My Rims/tires are 255/35/18 front and 285/35/18 rear

CPP 3" drop springs front and 5" drop springs rear.
