Transmission shift dial pointer

Can anyone tell me if there is something that should be in the shift dial pointer housing in below? I have looked in LMC, Classic Industries but cant find just a "pointer", assuming there was one originally!

This is t at LMC. Look at number 14, part 32-7212.Other vendors have it too.

Hmmmmmm....I saw this part but it said it was for a '71-72 and I have a '70. Do you think it is the correct part though?

It is generally acknowledged that tilt was first available in the 1971 trucks. However, some folks have reported them in some 1970s. If not on your SPID it was added by a PO.

Here's a pic of the pointer installed. It's a rather crude (and fragile) solution.

Re: Transmission shift dial pointer

Good info. My SPID does not mention tilt steering option so PO must have changed.
