Re: Lost in the Fort McMurray Fire.
Sorry for your loss, I have run a dozer on wildland fires since the mid 90's and it is traumatic to see peoples places go up in flames. I could not imagine what it would be like to be personally affected by it like you are. Wishing you and your family, and all the victims of the fire the best.

Re: Lost in the Fort McMurray Fire.
I know what it feels like to lose something that means so much to you. It hurts like hell. I feel for your loss. With that said be thankful for your family being safe and start rebuilding for tomorrow, no matter how it feels now it's not over for you or your family.

Re: Lost in the Fort McMurray Fire.
Thank you to everyone with such kind words. To be honest I'm a very "tight" person and don't spend money on just anything. I found this truck by accident on the net and fell in love with it instantly, I had my 5.3 LS swap ready to install and after that a disc conversion front and back...........my greatest loss is my home and heirlooms that will never be replaced and are just memories to us now. Thanks again for the kind words.

Re: Lost in the Fort McMurray Fire.
Praying for your deal!
My brother lost his house in May 3rd 1999 tornado in Oklahoma City. He was at home w/ 2 year old and 5 month old kiddo's. My mom kept call them, they left with 5 minutes to spare, or there would have been 3 more lives lost....Man I'm thankful! My brother had a 69 Camaro that we were working on, lost it, it was smashed pretty bad. He was able to buy a project car my buddy had been working on for a long time, and had to pretty much give up on due to health reasons. THis is a 73 Camaro, has a 406 small block in it, it's a screamer, way better car then the 69 would have been... Hang in there, God's got good plans for you and family!!! |

Re: Lost in the Fort McMurray Fire.
I'm so sorry to hear about your loss as well. That is a blessing in it's self that none of your family was injured and is safe. That's great! I hope the insurance companies up there don't fold up and leave all of you out on the streets. My thoughts and prayers go to your family. Good luck with it. If your 7 year old is like my 5yr old, you won't be able to not get another truck. When you're able to get another and keep making those memories.

Re: Lost in the Fort McMurray Fire.
Sorry for your loss. As you are already well aware, the truck isn't a big deal. Your family is. Together you will rebuild a new home together.

Re: Lost in the Fort McMurray Fire.
So sorry to hear but thankful your family is safe. I worked in Fort Mac last April and it was pretty neat place compared to as far South as I am. Wishing you the best!

Re: Lost in the Fort McMurray Fire.
I've been anxiously waiting to hear how any of our members in the Mac are doing. So sorry to hear your story but, as everyone else has already stated, it's only stuff. We went through a similar situation in 2013 with the big floods in High River so I can certainly sympathise. I really do wish you all the best going forward.
