mp3 player fm tuner using truck antenna?

Guys,

Im thinking of ways to make an mp3 player with fm receiver be my radio in my truck (no head unit). I could load my mp3s onto the player, but i still want local fm radio.

Ive read that the fm reception is pretty poor on all players though so what id like to do is get an adapter that will allow the mp3 player to use the truck antenna (motorolla plug -> 3.5mm??) to basically connect my truck antenna mast to my mp3 player fm receiver... increasing reception

Does anyone know where i can get an adapter like that?

Or, if theres a better way to get good reception from the mp3 player, lets hear your ideas.

Im just looking at cheap 20-50 dollar mp3 players. dont have one yet, but dont want to spend $$$ on it. recommendation there would be appreciated too.

thanks
