71 C25 - Motor/Tranny suggestions requested

Hi folks,

i'm new to the forum and looking for some advice. I have a tired 350 with a turbo 350 in my 3/4 ton. I would consider myself intermediate on the mechanical side. I have a 3 ton hoist to pull out something and put something in. So what is an economical power solution?

Thank you!

If the 350 is in fact worn out I'd say your most economical solution is a long block from a reputable local rebuilder. You should be able to get that for under $1000.

What makes you think it's 'tired'? I've bought vehicles that the PO was going to do a rebuild or replacement on but the motor just needed some attention. Tune-up, etc...

P.S. Welcome to the board!

Maybe I should edit the comment, she drives likes she's tired. I don't expect too much from her as she is miss dependable. Lots of leaks, rear main, valve covers are leaking...she deserves some pep as well.

I just watched this and now I'm drooling but I think that contradicts my economical comment.
