non-gauge option -to- gauge installation

Looking at a truck with no gauge option originally ordered on it - will install the original gauge package - my question is wiring harness related, etc.

What all is required to do the upgrade?

- Is the gauge harness a completely separate harness that can be purchased from a vendor?
- Would it tie into the fuse block of a non-gauge original truck? Or was the fuse box different for a gauge optioned truck?

I'm thinking this is a fairly easy upgrade, have all the parts already, but bought them originally to restore a gauge-equipped truck, so knew all the wiring/senders, etc would be in place. Now lookin at a non-gauge truck (i.e. just has fuel/speedo) and wondering if there are any major electrical/sender etc hurdles of which I'm not aware.

Thanks guys!

check this out....I'm assuming you are talking about going from idiot lights to gauges...

Basically it's a rewire of the plug that goes into the dash...

Re: non-gauge option -to- gauge installation

Awesome info - thanks very much. So not too big of a project - and the stock fuse block works fine, just need to rearrange near the dash plug - and a few other minor things. Thanks again!
