Cheyenne Super?

What year did the cheyenne super package come around? I was under the impression it was only in 72. What features did it include that just a plain cheyenne didn't have.

Pretty sure it was '71. It got you the houndstooth and extra badging, headliner (or was that standard on the Cheyenne, too?)

71 was the first year. The 71 and 72 had super emblems on the glove box doors that were unique to the year. It is a trim package that included wood grain dash, glove box, glove box emblem, fender emblems, chrome tailgate handle or cover for handle, and I think seat covers. I believe these were the only really unique options on the super package.
When you ordered the Super package there were other things that were included like side trim, delux door panels, etc. These were not really unique things for the super but were individually available for the Cheyenne.

Here is my 71 super it has all the options listed above.
I'm pretty sure there were less than 10,000 made in 71 and over 40,000 in 72 .
They were had just a few little things that made them Cheyenne Super..

To my knowledge, yes. And it should have a chrome tailgate handle cover too.

Question

I thought the West Coast mirrors attached at the top and bottom of the window, while Below Eyeline mirrors are the tripod style that mount below the window. Is that correct?

Here is a generality I've found to be true in "most" cases:

67/68 Jr west coast are as you describe
69/72 used the tripod setup (Deans truck). In 69/70, it was stilled referred to as Jr west coast on the options sticker and literature. In 71/72 the decription changed to below eyeline but the mirror did not.

Then there are the big swing out mirrors I'm looking for and are on Jeremy_5's truck. This was a different option, but not available until 71? Perhaps that is why the name changed to avoid confusion?

I'm beginning to conclude there was another tripod setup used at least in 72. This one had shorter arms and attached just inder wing vent and above the upper moulding.

None of this may be 100% accurate but it's what I've been able to piece together

See pic in this thread

This is the 3rd type of mirror (on a 72) and it is referred to on glove box as west coast jr too.

Anybody have the factory stainless tailgate handle cover they want to get rid of? The one off my Seirra Grande has a dent in it.
