The shift kit I bought (Transgo) has a feature that will lock it up hydraulically, so no need to wire it up. However, you can use the extra set of contacts on the brake light switch to lock/unlock the convertor once you step on the brake pedal ( I have a '71 and my brake switch has two sets of terminals, probably for a cruise control option maybe) just wanted to add that bit of info....

being fairly new to this forum myself, I am now confused about the rules. I thought this was a discussion about the 700r4 I'm also considering an LS swap into my '70. So I would be wrong to ask if the 700r4 fits an LS (I'm here because of the same interest in its wiring setup) and follow this discussion here or should it go to the new forum? BTW I did not take the original question as a question about a 97 truck, it was the vortec engine to 700r4 combo that I get from that.

Thanks for any clarification.

the 700R4 will fit, but you need the specific flex plate and the spacer/longer bolts to correctly mate them up.

This is just my .02 cents. Yes it was about a 700R4 "lockup TC wiring kit", but as you have seen the Original questions that I had for my thread had others asking there own questions about what there problems with something they are working with to get an answer for them. There is nothing wrong with following a thread and getting some answers from it if it parallels with your own needs. If you have an answer for that thread that pertains to that thread than put an answer in, but if the question you have is quite different from the Original questions thread then Start your own thread for the answers you want for your own problems that you have with whatever your working with. When coming in on someones thread and asking a different question some times it takes a different route and the Original question doesn't get its proper answers it deserves or it never gets any more answers. We are all here for the same reasons asking questions or giving advice on something that we are not so for sure on or how to get the job done right with the right way it should be done.
