Re: 700R4 ??'s
If you're going to correct everyone, about something you're inquiring about, then why are you here?

Re: 700R4 ??'s
The shift kit I bought (Transgo) has a feature that will lock it up hydraulically, so no need to wire it up. However, you can use the extra set of contacts on the brake light switch to lock/unlock the convertor once you step on the brake pedal ( I have a '71 and my brake switch has two sets of terminals, probably for a cruise control option maybe) just wanted to add that bit of info....

Re: 700R4 ??'s
being fairly new to this forum myself, I am now confused about the rules. I thought this was a discussion about the 700r4 I'm also considering an LS swap into my '70. So I would be wrong to ask if the 700r4 fits an LS (I'm here because of the same interest in its wiring setup) and follow this discussion here or should it go to the new forum? BTW I did not take the original question as a question about a 97 truck, it was the vortec engine to 700r4 combo that I get from that.
Thanks for any clarification. T

Re: 700R4 ??'s
the 700R4 will fit, but you need the specific flex plate and the spacer/longer bolts to correctly mate them up.
like this: http://paceperformance.com/i-6520249...nk-spacer.html http://www.crateenginedepot.com/LS1-...32-P10346.aspx all the GM part numbers are listed at the bottom of the page of the last link I posted. Have a good one!!! Ben
