Looks like someone married a 73-87 box to a 70s era cab? From the picture, it looks pretty convincing to me, not bad looking except for the rust and faded paint.

Re: Umm....I don't know quite what to say here.....lol
That thing is legit. I guarantee you it's owned by some old guy that goes by the name of "paw-paw" and he'd rather spend his money on his grandkids, or going fishing, or buying coffee down at the Dairy Queen than worrying about getting the proper bed to please the purists.
It's no worse than this. It was done in every town in America about 25 years ago. No disrespect to the owner of the black truck either. It was a trend that came and went. |

I bet that truck fires up every time and would prolly drive anywhere tho! Just odd to see anymore. Found a complete rust free 67-68 Shortbox 2WD not far away from it for 5K or offer....almost had to bring it home lol

Minus the wheel openings being different, or doesn't look to bad at all

Re: Umm....I don't know quite what to say here.....lol
IMHO these look horrible. Just my opinion though. It would look good with the period correct step side bed
Hotrod shop owner down the street has a 70 with a newer bed like this too. Yuk.

You know.... the guy has done a good job. So, you have to admire his workmanship. And he also has the privilege of ownership. But I completely agree with you. A cab from one generation and a bed from another generation just looks WRONG!!

Re: Umm....I don't know quite what to say here.....lol
I never understood taking the worst looking stepside bed GM made and putting it on other gens that had great looking step side beds to begin with. Then again some people pay money for mitsubishi's, so theres really no explaining anything.
