blower fan cuts out on high speed setting

Hi everybody i am having an issue with a 1984 gmc jimmy
The blower fan works but cuts out when turned to high speed setting
The blower motor resistor has been replaced and the fan relay
any help on this would be appreciated greatly Thank You

had this happen to my K10 after fatmat and new seals, had to crack the window before it would work on high.

How is your interior?

Bad fan switch? The resistor is bypassed on High.

take your level that controls your air and heat and move it over just lil towards heat. just a tad bit.

Remove hvac control assembly from the dash and operate the control with the engine on. Wiggle the connector at the back of the hvac control and see if it will operate correctly, at least momentarily. If you can get it to work this way, then buy a new short harness with connector - they are still available from the AC Delco pigtail catalog. The connector/harness dries out over time and will not keep good contact with the hvac control.
