How do 15" wheels fit on a 3/4 ton rearend?

I got a friends 3/4 ton truck over at my house that i'm putting a new exhaust system on and I am going to put 3/4 ton axles under my truck, but was looking around and noticed that even with the 16.5" wheels that come on 3/4 ton truck it looks tight for the drum brakes, will they clear still? I know the front has to be have a little grinding on the calipers done. This is a 9.5" rear end btw.

I have 15x10s on my 3/4 ton (8 lug)rear. It's a dana 60 w/ 12" drums. If your going to be looking for 15" 8 lug rims I have 4 american racing white wagon wheels 15x10 w/ I believe 3.5" back spacing I'd sell you for $100.

I would be needing some new rims, and just put brand new tires on and their 15" tires and don't want to have to get another set of tires so thats why i'm wondering about the 15" 8 lug.

Sounds like he has a HD brake option w/ 13" drums. Did not know they came on the 9.5" 14 bolt rears. But w/ 12" drums 15 rims fit.

Its a 8600 lb GVWR truck, and does have some heavy duty options, so it may have the heavy duty brakes.

Forgot to ask were the wheels on the 9.5" 14 bolt aluminum or steel. You'll need steel 15" wheels to fit on 8 lug axles.

they are steel. I don't like aluminum wheels anyway, so i'll be getting steel wheels, plus their a lot cheaper.

Turns out those wheels are actually 16" instead of 16.5" and have a rather large lip on the inside of them that normal aftermarket wheels don't have and its probably taking up like 1/2" of the extra space you would normally see. So thats why it looks so tight.

Ive got the 14b FF w/13" brakes and 15" rims. my buddy has the 14b SF w/13" brakes and 16" rims, his old 15" rims wouldnt fit. so I would have to say some 15" will work, some wont. gona have to try em to see.

I agree, my friends 15" rims just barly didnt fit, they were damn close. if those drums were any smaller it would have fit no problem.
