My friend has a 250 inline with a t350 trans on a lowered shortbed he gets 15 mpg. Dont know the gear ratio.

I'm somewhat familiar writh the 292 (vaguely). Just got one to put in my '54 Chevy truck. From my understanding it is pretty stock. I'm going to run a 350 turbo tranny behind it and trying to figure out what gear rear end. Found a '76 Nova donor car for front clip, tranny, steering column, drive shaft and rear end. The gear is a 2.73. I'm not looking to be able to burn rubber or drag race. Would the 2.73 gear work alright with the 292?
