steering box

Hey guys, working on a 50 chev 1/2 ton pick up. Is there any adjustment on a stock steering box for play side to side, like newer manual boxes. also i am assuming it uses 90 wt. gear lube? how to drain and amount to refill? thanks.

Re: steering box

Is it the box or tie rod ends?

Re: steering box

well i pulled it down off shelf, have not looked at it for about a year. It does have a lash adjustment just like most of them, duh. Maybe take out the lowest bolt toward the bottom to drain, then add oil in top plug up to top bolt on side?
