Electric Fan Thermostat Leak

Looking for a bit of advice on my 71.

We installed an new Fan Thermostat in the motor block this past weekend. There were no leaks from the it for a few days. Yesterday afternoon I noticed it was dripping a little anti-freeze (not a large amount). We've tightened the inner and outer housings about a tight as they'll go - the outer housing (that screws into the block) could be tightened a little more but being brass we don't want it super tight ...fears of stripping it. The leak remains.... Any advice on how to stop this minor leak? I've been told NOT to use plumbers tape or anything like that on the threads. (Even said it on the installation directions)..

Curious as to what everyone else has done to prevent/stop this from occurring.

I take they just want to ensure the switch is grounded. To me it is hard to believe that the threads will not cut through white teflon tape somewhere to get a ground and the same wirh liquid pipe thread sealer. I coat all threads on senders and some even have a sealer on them from factory. I am curious to hear others remedies or maybe call the manufacturer and ask their cure for the problem..

I had heard that too, but I've always used thread sealer and never had an issue with the ground connection. I just got a Derale controller and their instructions said TOO use tape or thread sealer on their sending unit.

Since I don't know what kind of switch you're grounding I would say it most likely a ground seeking switch, so even a modest ground source will get the job done and activate a relay. I say go ahead and use Teflon tape or the thread sealer stuff. Small amounts and don't get crazy with it. If it works then so be it.
