Have you been watching me from a distance? There is not a day goes by that I don't just look at the truck and dream. Of course you know the difference between a dream and a fantasy. fantasies will never happen. Sit down, plan out what you need first, to enjoy your truck, then get into the "wants" list. Do what you can for yourself, and anything you think you can't do, ask the board members, odds are someone has done it.
From your picture you have a great start, I've been meaning to replace my rockers and put in a blazer tank since 2000. (Still not done) |

This is why I drive mine as is while doing stuff slow and in stages. I will never have a perfect truck with every detail perfect. Mainly because I use it as truck and don't wanna worry about it and I don't want it sitting in peices for years either. Life is too short

You know the old saying " If you have time to lean ,You have time to clean " Lots of small projects only require sandpaper ,elbow grease and spray paint .I'm a big fan of my Heineken but beer costs money and once it's gone you have nothing to show for it , sandpaper and spray paint are cheap and last a long time ......

 Work on what you can, prep your parts and get them clean, then sit down and drink a beer and enjoy what you just accomplished  I have had my 68 project apart since 09, but when I drive it I will be saying I built this truck

Its summertime, which means sitting around drinking beer. Living in the snowbelt, its what we do. Spend the time to get it on the road in the winter and enjoy it all summer long. Work on the stuff that only takes a few hours of tinkering at night, while enjoying that cold beer, and the sun is out past 8 p.m.

work on the little things. clean parts. even if something works disassemble it clean it up greas and oil it so it works like it did when new. detail it. labor is your best value.

I haven't touched my 67 all summer....yet!
2 yrs. Of strictly working on the 67 and i neglected all the other rides in the household. Almost done with them all now except the 71 k 20 witch is stalled at the moment. Been meaning too uncover the 67 and take it for a putt too warm it up get to get some juices flowing....soon! Did somebody say BEER?

My problem of late is motivation over $$$. I'm very close to having it ready for paint. But between the chores that have to get done around the house -- mow the lawn, etc., and some lake time I just don't seem to get it done. I walk by it in the garage every day coming and going and think to myself, this weekend I'm going to.....but I just don't seem to get it done.

I put mine back together and started driving it, if only on the weekend doing chores. Since I started driving it, I have done more to fix it up in the last year than the previous 7-8 years combined. Also changed my goal. At one time I wanted to make it almost show quality and have everything perfect. Now I am a lot less demanding. My new goal is just a good working truck that looks nice to 90% of people that see it. A much more obtainable goal.
