Fresh air duct for 87 gmc r1500
Anybody know any place to get these lately? Mine's cracked all over. If not, are there any mods out there that function and look ok?

If you find the GM part number you can start searching the internet and likely find one. If you are referring to the flexible duct from the air cleaner to the radiator core support, I think I got mine from Vintage Parts - not cheap but original GM part. This is a company that stocks obselete NOS parts for vehicles and even appliances.

I got mine for the same place as tucsonjwt did, mine was not the right year (1980 350ci) but it works well.

I don't know if it makes any difference, but if do you have an auto or manual transmission? With the TBI on an 87 I think your snorkel and hose are different. Maybe the connector at the core support is different also.

Re: Fresh air duct for 87 gmc r1500
Yes, I am referring to the one running from the core support to the air cleaner. Mine is auto tbi set up also. Any idea what the difference between auto and manual are? I know one off an 86 will not work as they are shorter. Mine measures about 31.5 inches. I was told some 88's had the same one but have not been able to find one that looks like it will work. I'll check out vintage parts and see what they have. Thanks!

I would call this source first, but they show one in stock. Make sure that the measurements are correct prior to purchase.

Re: Fresh air duct for 87 gmc r1500
I'll give them a shout in the morning. I don't see any dimensions on it.... I need one that's 31.5 inches long though. Hopefully this is it.
Thanks! |
