Replacement Dash Pad or "cover"

Hi Guys, I have a ways to go before I need interior parts for my project 82'... but doesn't hurt to be prepared. The original dash is rough... seeing some dash covers on the market. Anyone use these, or is a whole replacement dash pad the way to go?

I got one from LMC, it was from dashes direct. The fitment is pretty good and has held up so far in my truck.

Re: Replacement Dash Pad or "cover"

Curious on this also, why not LMC? . I am looking for a replacement dash pad in camel. I can find the cover in that color on LMC but not the replacement pad it's self.

I used a coverlay on mine and am well pleased..its just covers the original dash and is way cheaper than a new dash.http://coverlaymfg.com/

It could be helpful if you let us know where those "better places" may be. Since LMC just resells pieces from Dashes Direct, what is to say that Brothers, JC Whitney, or someone else isn't peddling the same stuff?

Re: Replacement Dash Pad or "cover"

CaptKaos sells the Dashes Direct pad in his store, says it's the Dashes Direct one which many people have said fits well.

Re: Replacement Dash Pad or "cover"

The people who are using the Dashes Dorect pad what J clips/ speed clips are you using in the corners to attach the bezel. Like the original pad would have attached.

Re: Replacement Dash Pad or "cover"

I've seen some killer jobs done by upholstery shops recovering the oem ones. My local shop quoted 175 and he does great work.
