Re: LT1 GenV swap
Most of the pictures that look like the part in question is a regulator... a dampner only has the the center inlet... wonder if gmperformance would know. I still plan on running factory pump assembly.. just haven't made progress on the rings...

Re: LT1 GenV swap
And more searching revealed the ecu terminals, and most of the connector terminals in the harness.. gonna repair the one the first junk yard nipped off 2 sensors and make it good as new without splices and maybe just run that harness and sell the other harness that's not been damaged.

Re: LT1 GenV swap
How deep are you in the wiring? I'm trying to figure out the canbus. As far as I can tell there are 2 circuits needed, 1 for the FPCM and 1 for the trans. Sound right?

Re: LT1 GenV swap
Done with the wiring .. it's just a pass pass through. It goes on to trans, tee off into the trans, then goes out the trans to the one one of the connectors x115 or x125 and that's what will go to the obd port.

Re: LT1 GenV swap
Sweet that the way I was gonna wire it. Did you put a resistor in it? Also, the brake pedal switch, are you using the 4 pin switch?

Resistor for the can line, yeah. Brake pedal sensor no, gonna try something else.

Looks like I should have my pan soon. Being a shop we ordered
My pan through a distributor. Sounds like they have had the pan for some time and it took us calling then to get the order rolling again.... hope to see the pan sometime next week... |

Re: LT1 GenV swap
Glad to hear. Got around to the alternator bracket.. going to give this a try. Should work as there are other companies that offer setups like this
![]() And keeps the vacuum pump... just need to reinstall it as i was testing out another bracket idea. Need to remake the power steering brackets to incorporate an idler instead of a tensioner... Clint

Got my pan in last week too. Clearance is perfect for my Porterbuilt suspension. Just waiting on Holley's LT accessory drive now. Looks like a couple more months.

Re: LT1 GenV swap
Random bag of spacers i found on the side of the street
![]() Surprisingly they fit the passenger side alternator mount lile a champ! ![]() Used up all the random length bolts i could round up for mock up. Now just need to print the final template and cut it out on some 3/8 plate... Ill re-do the power steering plates later to incorporate an idler pulley for more crank belt wrap.. maybe un necesssry but why not.. Still need to sort out the motor mounts.. 3/8 plate to adapt gen5 to sbc... leaves a 1/4 inch or so between the booster and valve cover.. so tight, i cannot install the beauty cover With this setup, I can keep the vacuum pump and not have to worry about vacuum although i have 2 l83 manifolds and going to try something with one amd post the results of the test Clint

Re: LT1 GenV swap
Last tweak and now im ready to cut them out. Needed to rotate the tensioner a few degrees now it can put the proper tension on the belt.

Re: LT1 GenV swap
Looks great. I have been very interested in doing an LT4 swap for my build as of late, but was initially put off by the cost of getting the front drive system setup. Looks like Holley and Dirty dingo are working on kits or have them already. Dingo said probably another few months for the LT4 stuff.
I'm assuming I'd need to run the Holley pan to clear my crossmember in the 66, since it's actually from an 85 pickup as well? Ever figure out how you'll get a tach signal and coolant temp from? I'd hate to have to rebuy gauges that pull from an OBD port since I have new speedhuts sitting in a box . . . |

Engine harness routing.. pleased with it.
![]() Need to finish the bulkhead connector to fuse box and all that's left for wiring is the fuel pump harness. Clint

Re: LT1 GenV swap
Motor mounts checked off the list
![]() ![]() The 1st aluminum motor mount adapters turned put to be usefull. A heat sink/fixture to help prevemt the plate from warping. If I were to have used them and the stock 3bolt bracket, it put the valve cover wicked close to the brake booster. I lowered the motor enough to give the driveline angle about 3-4* and have the trans pan barely below the frame rail. Also keeps the vacuum pump and stock ac compressor. Win win.. When the motor comes out for the last time, I'll hit it with some paint. Clint

Slid the oil pan on for a few pictures.

Re: LT1 GenV swap
Alternator brackets finally done
![]() Happens that a old BMW belt is exactly the right length for this setup w/o the idler.. be good enough to test it out. A/C... the factory sucrion hose line is a no go unless the frame is notched... a lot. The discharge side can work.. the sensor is kinda close to the frame.. maybe re work the line a little. Already drew up the suction adapter and waiting on the quotes to come in. I'll take a picture of that next time I install the compressor.

Re: LT1 GenV swap
Had the a/c adapters printed up. The high side fits as good as its going to, but made it anyway. It a close to the motor stand... simple to grind and clearance it.. maybe reinforce it just cause... the new low side fits with tons of room...
![]() ![]() Just bent a scrap piece of tube to make it fit ![]() ![]() ![]() The notch that's on the frame was from the LS low side ac line clearance. High side sensor needs to be relocated as its almost a 100% chance of separating the joint if it was to be twisted. More than likely, i will cut it at the sensor, install a new port and new fitting on the original line. I removed the tube from the original line... can be made to work. Just wanted to have another option. Also got the final power steering brackets cut out: ![]() ![]() Need to make a trip to the autoparta store and pick up a few belts. Clint
