engine decoding

Well wasn't planning on rebuild the engine but I guess I'am. Would the vin be stamped anywhere else other than the Right front. I can see the Engine code stamp but no Vin#. appears to be the orignal engine for the truck but cant seem to find the vin stamp.

Engine code is V0819TBG . What I found on that is
v=Flint
08 Auguse
19 Born date
TBG= 71 350cid 255 hp Automatic?

Re: engine decoding

try searching the "google" search and select the button for 67-72chevytrucks.com. I'm sure something will come up from the truck side of the board.
