New Washer Pump Bracket is Done.

I finished the new washer pump bracket. I want to thank all the members that have given advice, direction, and especially those that supplied pics of how they had done it and those that answered my questions.

I went through several ideas: mounting to the inner fender, mounting to the other side of the washer bottle bracket, even mounting directly to the outer fender, using a bracket made out of a piece of 1/8 steel angle.

However, I wanted to keep it attached to the existing bracket.

My dad suggested I use aluminum since he had a lot of it and it's a soft metal. The main piece came from an old sign and the spacers are from a piece of TV stand someone had thrown away and I got out of a dumpster some five years ago.

I first made a paper template, directly tracing the shape of the bottle bracket as I wanted to keep the same, exact lines. My bracket ended up being about 1/8 inch wider than it should have been, due to the use of two templates. I can trim it later. The spacers are needed to give my finger and thumb room enough to bolt it to the bottle bracket. To mount, the pump just first be attached in order to get that close to the bottle bracket.

I cut it all out with a Dremel Tool and reinforced cutting disks....unfortunately I didn't get the spacers uniformly the same.

I'll replace these nuts with lock nuts or add split washers when it goes onto the truck.
