My horn relay is missing.
I've been trying to get some of the wiring issues sorted out on a 64 GMC. One of the things that doesn't work is the horn. The internals of the horn button seem to be correct. But when I look at the wiring diagrams they all show a horn relay. Did this year come with a generator or an alternator? Mine has an alternator. My horn has a green wire going to it from a plug that has a red and black wire going to it. The other wires that are branching off from it are going to the plug that plugs into the head light harness.

Re: My horn relay is missing.
According to RockAuto this is the replacement horn relay. Anything like this attached to the rad support beneath the voltage regulator?

Re: My horn relay is missing.
I've looked all through the engine compartment and inside the cab by the fuse block. I can't find anything that resembles a horn relay. My voltage reg is on the inner fender close to where the alternator is, passenger side.

I love it when the obvious is right in front of me but it takes somebody else to point it out. I'll be ordering a new horn relay today. Ordered!!!!!!

Re: My horn relay is missing.
Ya, that was mine. The good part is that once the relay was installed and I diddled around with the horn button.........I now have a working horn. It is loud!!!
